Spring Rejuvenation

Spring is here, and I think we are all looking forward to some warmer weather! Spring is the season of renewal and regeneration. It's the season that waters the seeds of growth. Similarly, it's the perfect time to do some extra exfoliation for your skin. All of that build-up of dead skin cells and leftover pigmentation from breakouts that accumulated during the winter needs to be cleared away to reveal the healthy skin cells underneath. Keep reading for our guide to spring exfoliation!

PEEL AND REVEAL

Chemical exfoliation is a great way to quickly shed those layers of dead cells off, lighten discoloration, and reveal smoother and glowing skin. Since a peel is a form of exfoliation, after your treatment you may notice dry, flaking skin, this is part of the cellular turnover happening. Not everyone experiences this flaking, but that doesn't mean your peel didn't work.

If you are uncomfortable doing peels at home—or you simply want to relax, indulge and leave your skin in the hands of professionals—we offer several peel options at the spa. Our peels can be scheduled as stand-alone services or as add-ons to one of our heavenly facials.

PEELS FOR BEGINNERS

If you have never had a peel before we recommend starting off with one of our gentle peels:

Lactic Acid Peel: The gentlest peel. This is an Alpha Hydroxy Acid(AHA) peel and is best for sensitive skin. It will increase cellular turnover while hydrating and brightening your skin. It is also safe for pregnant women.

Glycolic Peel: Our next gentlest AHA. It is slightly stronger than the Lactic peel and is wonderful if you have minor skin congestion and want to tackle anti-aging. This peel increases the skin's ability to absorb moisture and anti-oxidants and improves your skin's texture.

Mandelic Acid Peel: A champion for fighting acne, hyperpigmentation, and the effects of aging. Stronger than the previous two, yet still gentle. This peel also helps to promote collagen production, and like the other AHAs, to improve texture and dullness.

Salicylic Acid Peel: This medium depth, deep clarifying treatment refines and resurfaces by actively exfoliating the top layers of the stratum corneum. This allows the peel to penetrate the skin—ridding the pores of acne-causing buildup and fading hyper-pigmentation. This peel is best suited for those with oily/combination and more resilient skin.

ADVANCED PEELS

PCA Peel: PCA is a brand of chemical peel manufactured by PCA Skin. These peels give us the ability to customize and adjust the strength of the treatment based on your needs and are great for rejuvenating your skin, correcting the effects of the sun, reducing scarring from acne or trauma, and managing discoloration and wrinkles from aging. Formulations include AHA's, BHA's, TCA's, and Retinoids.

* Note: If it's your first time receiving a PCA Peel, we suggest you schedule a consultation.
